Welcome to the first Lincoln Learning Solutions e-newsletter. Its launch represents our commitment to opening the lines of communication with everyone in our organization – a team that includes people from all walks of life who specialize in a wide range of fields and skills. An integral part of our DNA, you are resilient and hardworking. You’re our best asset.
Look at this newsletter as a resource where you can learn more about what your colleagues are working on and how everything fits into the LLS story. With every edition, we hope to share with you updates from each department, news about our philanthropic efforts, profiles of your co-workers, updates about our clients, and a few lighthearted tidbits.
Take part in surveys (in fact, start now by voting on a name for this newsletter), email us with ideas, and tell us about milestones, proud moments, and achievements.
Speaking of achievements, wait until you hear this one. With a lot of confidence and a bit of jetlag, a small team of LLS executives and I just returned from a trip to Beijing and Jinan, China. Thanks in no small part to Evan-Moor, we leveraged the assistance of Beijing native Rance Fu who helped coordinate meetings with potential clients. Our academic team also helped to pave the way by collaborating with Chinese executives on large scale opportunities prior to our journey. It’s been a team effort. IT, curriculum, Evan-Moor, Agilix – all of them have helped bring this to fruition.
It’s so important, because about 18 percent of the world’s urban population live in China, and, as you can imagine, urban areas are more likely to have internet access, which our solutions rely upon. The United States represents about 4 percent in that same category. So, you can see the significance here.
Meanwhile, Evan-Moor has already begun developing a new website in China. You’ll read about other efforts to retool LLS to get ready for the Asian market. These are all steady, significant steps. Though we are not anticipating amazing initial returns, the long opportunity in China is truly staggering.
That’s all for now.
Best,
Bob
