It’s inevitable. Whether you’re a believer in New Year’s resolutions or not, it’s human nature to hit the reset button and take stock of your priorities when the calendar flips to a new year. Exercise and diet are often at the top of the resolution list. That’s why The Bridge wants to know your workout routine.

In case you didn’t know, LLS CEO Bob Clements is serious about fitness. Like him, most of us aren’t in the business of exercising so we can enter the next Mr./Ms. Universe contest. We simply want to tone up and improve our health. Here are a few guidelines he follows to stay in shape.

  1.  Carve out time to exercise, whether it’s hitting the gym after work, taking a walk at  lunchtime or hopping on the stationary bike in your basement.
  2.  Hit the elliptical and arc trainers for an aerobic workout that won’t kill your joints.
  3.  Set up a dumbbell routine to keep your muscles toned.
  4.  Take a swim if you have a pool at your disposal.
  5.  Treat yourself to a massage to improve your flexibility and relieve stress.
