“What if the shoe were on the other foot?”
You’ve probably heard this phrase at least once from a parent or teacher as you were getting “a talking to.” Now, as an adult, you may have even used it.
This idiom, which originated in the 1800s, encourages people to look at a given situation from a different perspective.
What does this have to do with Lincoln Learning Solutions and you?
As you know, our Accessibility Team is always working hard to promote awareness about disabilities. In this issue of The Bridge, they invite you to take your awareness a step further and experience what it would be like if the preverbal shoe were on the other foot.
Take a few minutes to interact with these simulations and experience what it might be like to be autistic and sitting in a busy, noisy café. Get a different perspective on a simple walk down the street.
Then, try your hand at these game-like simulations to experience what it might feel like to be a child with learning or attention issues.
Afterward, please keep these simulations in mind as you continue to create engaging and interactive e-learning solutions.
