A New Perspective

Nicole Thompson uses her Day of Service to volunteer at the Bradley Center, wrapping donated Christmas gifts for the children who live there.

“I look forward to this event because it’s one small way I can make a positive difference in children’s lives,” Nicole said.

Outside of Lincoln Learning Solutions, Nicole also volunteers at the Butler County Humane Society, working fundraising events and writing animal biographies. Her biographies are posted to the BCHS website, published in the Butler Eagle newspaper, and aired on Critter Corner through Armstrong cable. She also works with the BCHS’s social media, creating sentimental posts when animals are adopted.

Nicole said that volunteering for this cause is particularly rewarding because she knows she is helping animals to find “furever” homes while helping families experience the joy of adopting a pet.

“Volunteering gives me a more humble perspective on life,” Nicole said, "and I hope that as my children grow, they too will generously gift their time to serve others.”
