A Life-Changing Experience

Before using her Day of Service at the WDVE Radiothon for Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, Rachel learned about six-year-old Lilli, who dressed in princess costumes for her chemotherapy treatments. Rachel bought her princess items to present to her during chemo, which happened to be the same day as the Radiothon.

Lilli stole her heart. The imaginative play she engaged in helped ease the tension and stress of undergoing chemotherapy.

Rachel always knew that helping children was what made her feel complete.  She felt so good after spending time with Lilli and making her happy that, with Lilli’s mom, she formed Costumes for Courage, which presents costumes to kids getting treatment at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.

Well done, Rachel, and congratulations on recently earning 501c3 status for Costumes for Courage.
